Line Producers

Full Time: 37.5 hours, 9.30am- 6pm (part-time hours and job-sharing would also be considered)
Contract: Fixed term
Start Dates:
July 2022 to January 2023 across various projects
End Dates: Contracts on offer from 6 months to 2 years

A Productions are looking for Line Producers to work on lots of exciting, long form animated projects starting from summer 2022.

We welcome applicants from Live Action or other industry backgrounds and will offer skills-transfer training if required. The work will be produced in-house at our central Bristol studios.

As Line Producer, you will oversee all elements of production and be the main point of contact for the client and crew. Heading up the production team, you will be responsible for implementing the schedule and making sure that the project stays within budget. You will work closely with other senior members of staff to troubleshoot and ensure things stay on track. Previous experience of financial reporting would be a bonus. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate previous industry experience as Production Manager or Line Producer.

General Duties:

  • Overall management of the main schedule, looking ahead and managing any issues that might require flexibility or change
  • Overseeing weekly/daily priorities and departmental schedules, including for the Director
  • Overall responsibility for all finances – checking cashflow and any discrepancies between forecast and actuals. Frequent revisions of internal forecasting based on any schedule changes
  • Tracking all freelancers and their forecasted costs & actual costs
  • Overseeing recruitment at the start of the project and maintaining a good overview of any continuing staffing needs
  • Maintaining an up to date understanding of all communications with the client (positive and negative feedback, client concerns, any events that could impact the schedule etc)
  • Maintaining a good overview of any issues in each department (schedule concerns, disputes etc)
  • Having a good overarching knowledge of each episode. Ensuring that any issues are addressed at the appropriate point in the pipeline
  • Overseeing post-production and managing final delivery, including all deliverables and post-production paperwork.

Relevant skills and experience

  • Animation series experience
  • Good knowledge and understanding of 2D & CG animation pipelines
  • Previous experience in a client-facing role
  • Good communication/organisational skills
  • Experience in managing several departments
  • Proactive and able to use own initiative
  • Experience in a fast-paced ever-changing environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and methodical working methods
  • Computer literate – MS Office
