Pre-Production Rigger

A Productions is a full service, multi discipline, creative, award winning animation studio based in Bristol, U.K. We have extensive expertise over 30 years in developing and producing animation for film, television & digital media.
We are seeking an experienced 3ds Max pre-production character rigger to join our team on a CGI children’s series for an international client. We are open to the possibility of this being an in-house or remote position.
If successful, you will be given the opportunity of being the in-house episodic rigger for the long form series.
General Duties:
To undertake the design and development of character rigs and animation tools in collaboration with the relevant heads of department
To be a critical part of the character creation pipeline, including but not limited to: bespoke character control rigs, deformation systems, facial animation systems, physics/simulation and animation tool development and creation.
To work closely with other teams to develop new techniques to solve animation production challenges
Essential Skills & Experience:
High level knowledge and production experience of 3ds Max rigging techniques and methods
Fluent in Maxscript or Python
Excellent communication, time management and presentation skills
Good understanding of human and animal anatomy
Have a pro-active and self-directed work ethic
Be able to convey complex ideas in simple terms

Render TD

We are looking for a highly organised and experienced Render TD to join us on a new and exciting long form children’s CG series for an international client.
General Duties:
Supervise the render team to setup, light and submit renders to the onsite renderfarm.
Maintain the render queue and identify and correct failures with the render software.
Ensure the smooth running of the rendering tools and workflows.
Oversee the compositing, importing and quality control of all footage.
Where necessary, assisting in the development of new pipeline tools and utilities.
To flag any deviations from the schedule and provide advice and solutions as appropriate
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven production experience using 3DS Max and V-Ray
Experience managing network rendering on long-form series.
Knowledgeable in Maxscript/Python or other programming languages.
Generalist with understanding of Animation, Lighting, and Layout
After Effects or other compositing software knowledge an asset
Excellent design, layout, colour, and composition skills
Work well under pressure whilst maintaining a very high work quality

Series experience preferred. We are looking for animators to create strong expressive, characterful work. This will be a long term contract based in our studios in Bristol UK. We are looking for good team players, able to demonstrate subtlety and nuanced character animation work.
CG Riggers, Modellers and Texture Artists.
To work with the teams. We are looking for good all-rounders who can cope with delivering high quality work within the demands of a long form series schedule.
