A series of short history themed films for BBC Bitesize.
Working closely with teachers and history advisors we created a series of short funny and engaging films highlighting key historic events and figures. Designed to appeal to the core GCSE audience, we created a combination of photo montaged backgrounds with a cut out animation style.
We also used author and historian, Dan Jones to present the films and provide narration. The films were written by comedian and writer Howard Read and the sequences were directed by Duncan Fraser and Mark Taylor, with the art direction being handled by Matt Morgan.
The green screen material was shot at Band Films in Bristol, all animation and compositing was done in house at A Productions.We’ve just completed a series of short history themed films for BBC Bitesize.
