My Friend Maisy, a magical new preschool series recently launched on Sky Kids, has been nominated in the Animation category of the Royal Television Society West of England annual awards.
Based on the worldwide bestselling books by Lucy Cousins, My Friend Maisy brings the beloved Maisy character and her friends to life in this new 2D animated show.
My Friend Maisy is co-produced by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions and Trustbridge Entertainment, with animation created by A Productions and Karrot in collaboration.
From flying a rocket to the moon and sliding down rainbows, to fixing cars in her garage and meeting stripey zebras, Maisy shows that with curiosity and kindness, anything is possible.
The first My Friend Maisy episodes premiered on Sky Kids at the end of 2025 with 26 episodes now available to stream following the show’s official launch in February 2026.
Katherine McQueen, managing director of A Productions, said: “We are very proud to be part of the team behind this beautiful, imaginative show that gives a new lease of life to the much-loved Maisy character and her friends, whilst closely reflecting the illustrative style of Lucy Cousins’ wonderful books. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
“It’s fantastic to see such a wealth of talent from a wide range of genres coming from our region in the awards once again this year. The standard of entries is so impressive making judging very tough, so huge congratulations to all those who have been nominated. Thanks to our key sponsor Gorilla Post Production, and all the other individuals, companies and organisations who make the awards possible”, said Rachel Drummond-Hay, RTS West of England chair and MD of Drummer Television.
The awards will take place on the evening of Sunday 26th April at Bristol Old Vic.
