The studio, which recently celebrated 40 years in business, was included in the prestigious list by leading industry website and magazine, Broadcast. The awards recognise businesses in the TV industry that are “committed to creating a supportive and thriving workplace”.

The list is compiled using the results of a survey filled in by employees, combined with information provided via an in-depth questionnaire submitted by the employer.

Katherine McQueen, managing director of A Productions, said: “We are proud to be highlighted as one of the Best Places to Work in TV once again, an industry award that rightly prioritises the importance of staff wellbeing. It is of utmost importance to us to create a nurturing and inclusive workplace culture to ensure our wonderful, talented team feel supported and able to fulfil their potential.”

Independently-owned A Productions makes award-winning children’s content for TV and film for audiences in the UK and around the world, working with leading broadcasters and streamers including Disney, Netflix, Max, CBeebies and CBBC, and Sky. The creative-led studio is trusted to work with some of the world’s most iconic characters and prides itself in creating beautifully crafted shows, each with their own unique and authentic voice.

A Productions offers a range of benefits for staff, including one-to-one wellbeing support with a dedicated welfare manager, flexible and hybrid working opportunities, regular social events, a half day Friday wellness afternoon every month on top of holiday allocation, and free lunches every month, known as Feast Thursdays, plus free art tutorials. The company has a virtual suggestion box to encourage staff to share their views on how they can make the company better.

A Productions also invests significantly in its ED&I programme, which includes regular staff workshops to share views and shape the company’s approach, unconscious bias training, an internal mentoring programme, apprenticeships, internships and placements, and outreach work in schools and colleges. The studio also recently supported aspiring 3D animators by offering the chance to join a part-time 10-week Skills Bootcamp with NextGen Skills Academy.
