It’s wonderful to see that a Sesame Street special we’ve worked on with Films@59 has been nominated for an award in the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) annual Children’s & Family Emmy awards.
A Productions produced the animation for The Nutcracker: starring Elmo and Tango, a Sesame Street special and Films@59 provided the sound editing and mixing, which has been nominated for a prestigious award.
Our director Jo Hepworth will be heading out to Los Angeles later this week with Films@59 sound editor David Yapp to attend the awards ceremony.
“We are proud to have worked with Films@59 on this wonderful animated special for the iconic and much-loved Sesame Street brand. We have worked together for 30 years and all have our fingers crossed for the awards” says Mark Taylor, joint managing director of A Productions.
George Panayiotou, business director at Films@59 said: “We were honoured to have the opportunity to provide the sound design and mix for Sesame Street’s The Nutcracker: starring Elmo and Tango.
“We are delighted to be recognised for the work on this animated special for our longstanding production client, A Productions and the Emmy nomination truly reflects the whole team’s commitment – we wish everyone success at the awards.”
An original take on a classic Christmas tale, The Nutcracker: starring Elmo and Tango is a celebration of the greatest gift of all: friendship. The classic story is retold Sesame Street-style in an animated special that follows Elmo and his puppy Tango on a fantastical adventure filled with new music and friends, and where Tango speaks for the very first time.
It debuted in the US last year and is set to make another appearance this Christmas on MAX and for the first time on PBS KIDS.
