My Friend Maisy is co-produced by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions and Trustbridge Entertainment, with animation created by our team here at A Productions and Karrot in collaboration.

The My Friend Maisy books are written and illustrated by Lucy Cousins and have sold more than 46 million copies worldwide, with Maisy first introduced in the book Maisy Goes Swimming in 1990.

The beloved Maisy character and her friends, Tallulah, Eddie, Charley and Cyril, are brought to life in a magical new show, now on Sky Kids and Now TV. The first few episodes premiered at the end of 2025 and the official launch takes place today with 26 new episodes now available to stream.

Katherine McQueen, managing director of A Productions, said: “It’s wonderful to see this joyful show, full of colour, spirit and adventure, having come to fruition. Blending the real and the surreal, Maisy and her friends are given a new lease of life through animation in this imaginative take on Lucy Cousins’ much-loved books.

“We undertook careful work to ensure the animation would reflect Lucy Cousins’ unique illustrative style by emulating a real brushstroke effect, whilst embracing the warmth, charm and simplicity of her stories that resonate with children around the world.”

The 2D animated show sees Maisy talk, giggle and sing for the very first time. From flying a rocket to the moon and sliding down rainbows, to fixing cars in her garage and meeting stripey zebras, Maisy shows that with curiosity and kindness, anything is possible.
