Spotlight to shine on the ‘bridge audience’ at CMC

Katie Barba, development producer, and Joanna Hepworth, director, will be representing the A Productions team at The Children’s Media Conference this year.

The CMC brings together people from across the UK involved in developing, producing and distributing content to kids on all platforms. It runs from 8-10 July in Sheffield. Joanna and Katie are looking forward to meeting industry creatives, new talent and familiar faces too.

Katie will be speaking as part of a panel, looking at ‘bridge audiences’ and how this varied group presents a unique set of creative challenges in the current landscape. The ‘bridge audience’ is somewhat of an enigma, sitting somewhere between a pre-school and older kids’ audience.

Katie said: “The panel will seek to define this audience target, as well as look at how it has changed over the years and how streaming has affected this group. The line-up for the panel is very exciting, covering perspecitves from commissioning, research, branding, and of course, content development.”

A Productions is also sponsoring four Speed Meeting sessions, which are one-to-one meetings with experts on tax certification and commissioners from BBC, S4C, RTÉ, Milkshake!, Nickelodeon, Sky, and Warner Bros. Discovery.
