Bea’s Block is a 40 x 11’ pre-school animated comedy series, focusing on the compassionate and curious 5-year-old Bea and her two best friends Ty and Lexi. The trio models kindness through friendship and empathy as they embark on playful adventures in their diverse community, Blocktown.
Based on the original ‘Totems’ short form work A Productions created for Sesame Studios,
Bea’s Block celebrates kindness by showing how to be empathetic, compassionate, and respectful to others while taking us all on a Kindness Adventure. We worked closely with the Sesame curriculum team to ensure children are encouraged to identify and label emotions of their own and to recognize the feelings of others.
Music and episode-specific songs for Bea’s Block were created and produced by YolanDa Brown, the acclaimed Saxophonist and musician. Working with live instruments YolanDa created a bespoke musical bed for the series.
Directed by Mark Taylor, the production was handled by A Productions for Sesame Workshop in the US.
Screening on Max in the US, Cartoonito in Latin America & Sky Kids in the UK.
